Stable transport of heavy barrels with paint and varnish

Chromaflo Technologies is a global manufacturer of paints and varnishes. The dyes are of high quality and intended for, among others, the automotive industry. The liquid paint and varnish are transported in barrels. For the branch in Finland, the company asked PTB to develop a pallet truck that could transport the 10-ton drums in a stable manner.

Large barrels

The lacquer is produced in large barrels weighing 8,000 to 10,000 kilos. Because the lacquer is liquid, it is constantly in motion during transport from the barrel. This 'living charge' causes the force fields to constantly move. Chromaflo turned to PTB Special Products to develop a means of transport that can withstand these forces.

Special construction

PTB Special Products succeeded in developing an electric pallet truck with a construction designed in such a way that the force fields have as little influence on the pallet truck as possible. PTB has already supplied several trucks of this type to Chromaflo.
