Nedtrain is responsible for the maintenance of the trains of the Dutch Railways (NS). Train wheelsets, or bogies, are moved in the workshop in Haarlem. These heavy bogies are transported from the place under the train where they are dismantled to the place where they are overhauled. Nedtrain wanted to purchase a transport vehicle to transport the bogies.
Nedtrain often collaborates with an engineering firm. The system for a 15-ton pallet truck was developed in collaboration with this engineering firm. This in combination with two unique pallets, which can ingeniously accommodate and move heavy wheel sets. Such a wheelset can weigh up to 12 tons.
By working with these separate pallets, the bogies with the DP150 can also be stored separately for later repairs. The pallets are equipped with a separate battery and a winch to pull the wheelsets from the track onto the pallets.
