Madern International BV globally supplies high-quality production machines with rotary dies for the packaging industry. For the turret changeovers, PTB designed and supplied a heavy-duty pallet truck.
Madern's machines produce packaging at high speeds in various shapes and forms, with added prints. Operations such as cutting, creasing, bending, folding, and printing occur using cylindrical cutting and printing rolls mounted in large machine units or 'turrets.' Each turret performs a different operation, resulting in a ready-to-use packaging product at the end of the machine.
By changing turrets, production can continue uninterrupted. The cleaning or replacement of rolls and other turret components can take place outside the normal production process. The PTB pallet truck serves as an essential link in this process.
The turrets are on a base frame that is 900 mm wide, precisely positioned in the production line. This is a precise task, requiring the frame to be lifted exactly parallel and driven in and out of the line with a clearance of only a few millimeters. The designed pallet truck requires minimal clearance on either side and can precisely position with fine adjustments. Guide rollers, positioning strips, and sensitive electronic controls and sensors assist in this process.
With a width of 1400 mm and precise controls, the PTB pallet truck fits precisely between various machine foundations, preventing damage to surrounding objects during maneuvering. The pallet truck has a lifting capacity of 15 tons, with a load center at 1200 mm. The machine also features shock absorbers and automatically adjustable lifting positions.
