Electric pallet truck for Logistics Center Westpoort (LCW)

Logistiek Centrum Westpoort (LCW) is a transport, storage and distribution company in Groningen. LCW needed an electric pallet truck to transport pelletized goods. PTB developed the EPD15; a demountable pallet truck with a lifting capacity of 1.5 tons, which can be transported under the loading floor.

Transport more pallets

Normally, a pallet truck is transported on the loading floor in a car. This is always at the expense of one pallet of the load to be transported. To increase freight yields, a special means of transport was needed.

Removable steering rod

PTB succeeded in developing a pallet truck from which the steering rod can be removed once the truck has been driven into the box under the loading floor. This significantly reduces the construction height and allows the truck to be transported under the loading floor.

Higher efficiency

With the pallet truck under the loading floor it is possible to transport one more pallet at a time. The pallet truck therefore ensures higher efficiency. The mounting of the removable steering rod is solidly designed. The construction is so heavy and strong that this system continues to function smoothly even after frequent use.
