High-tech company Mogema processes large and heavy frames for the lithographic industry. These parts are machined on enormous milling machines; post-processing takes place in a cleanroom. Mogema needed a special means of transport to transport the parts in and out of the cleanroom.
PTB Special Products supplied a heavy stacker with features that make the machine suitable for use in a cleanroom. This way, Mogema's special products can be transported to and into cleanrooms.
In the cleanroom at Mogema, the parts are wheeled in and out and brought to height. The frames that Mogema processes have dimensions of approximately 3 x 2.5 x 2.5 meters and weigh at least three tons after processing.
High demands are placed on machines that must be able to maneuver in a cleanroom. In terms of design, finish and choice of components and materials. The possible emission of dust particles must also be kept to a minimum.
The ESD30 for Mogema is largely made of stainless steel, or coated with it. The machine is equipped with 2,700 mm long forks and has a lifting capacity of 3,000 kg with a load center of 1,600 mm. With this weight the stacker can lift up to a height of 1,300 mm.
This capacity is comparable to that of an 8-ton forklift truck. The advantage of the stacker is its small dimensions compared to a forklift. A forklift that can move the same weight would be a lot larger and therefore heavier and less agile.
The Mogema stacker is equipped with a proportionally operated lifting system, which allows the lifting mast to be operated with millimeter accuracy. The stacker is operated ergonomically by the operator with a handlebar equipped with a drawbar head on which all operating elements are placed.
From the pedestrian position, the machine is safe to work with and the driver has a good overview. In addition, the electric stacker is maintenance-friendly and reliable.
